Claire Kearney’s interest in Elder Mediation is driven by the value and impact it can have not only on the person themselves, but on the entire family as a family unit. As a Mediator and Psychotherapist, she strongly believes and has seen first hand how Elder Mediation can contribute to the continuum of care in the lives of the families involved. Family life is demanding and complicated and needs to be seen through the lenses of the entire family cycle, from childhood, to adult life, parenting, family communication, sandwich generation, relationship breakdowns, and ageing.

Her 20 years’ experience as a business owner and manager, coupled with 11 years as a  practising Psychotherapist and Mediator gives her unique insights into a wide range of economic, domestic and family circumstances.

Claire is a Practitioner Member of the MII and former MII Director and Family Liaison. She is an international accredited Elder Mediator, a member of NAPCP with a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, a Diploma in Life and Business Coaching and is an Accredited Mediator Supervisor. She is a guest lecturer in Advanced Family Mediation on the Master’s Programme in Conflict Resolution in Maynooth University.
